What Has Calcium Got To Do With Sunstroke?

Plenty.

Would you believe that tissue calcium starvation is the source of sunstroke?

Here’s how it works. Most people get their vitamin D from the sun. The ultraviolet rays from the sun convert skin oil to vitamin D. When you get too much, you get a condition called hypervitaminosis D.

Should you get vitamin D but no vitamin F (essential fats), your blood calcium level will increase at the expense of the tissue calcium level because vitamin D not only gets calcium from your stomach but, when you have a deficiency of vitamin F, it also draws it out of your tissues and deposits it back into your blood.

That’s why people who are in the sun a lot get thick skin. They’re not getting enough vitamin F which is necessary to pull calcium into the tissues.

So, in summary, sunstroke means you have high blood calcium levels and low tissue calcium levels.

Excess vitamin D from extreme exposure to the sun is known to cause cancer. You may have read articles that warn you to stay out of the sun and that it is hazardous to your health. It’s actually only dangerous to people who are vitamin F deficient.

The real solution is to get enough vitamin D – the sun’s good – and most certainly enough vitamin F, along with your calcium daily – and don’t forget that calcium needs magnesium in the correct ratio before your body can use it.

Vitamin D deficiency symptoms include:

• Bone pain and/or soft bones, frequent bone fractures, bone deformities or growth retardation in children, depression, migraines, hearing loss, eczema, psoriasis, insomnia, infertility, muscle pain, to name some.

Vitamin F deficiency symptoms include:

• Hair loss, eczema, damage to kidneys, heart and liver, slow healing, overweight, dry eyes, bruise easily, high cholesterol levels, lowered immunity, more colds and ‘flu and minor infections.

Calcium and magnesium deficiency symptoms include:

• Stress, nervous tension, muscle spasms and/or pain, poor bone and teeth development and/or deterioration, compromised immune system, hyperactivity and hypoactivity, insomnia, arthritic pain, poor nerve function, constipation, low energy, PMS, menopausal discomfort, depression, mood swings, an inability to relax, to name some.

There are many other symptoms for the above deficiencies, but you get the picture.

It is vital to have CalMag-C as well as essential fatty acids which are in any good quality fish oil, preferably the oil but capsules are still better than nothing.
