How To Improve Your Sleep

Many people have difficulty with sleep. Some people have trouble falling asleep, while others have trouble staying asleep. Some people just can’t sleep at all.

Sleep is very important. A restful sleep is vital so the body can repair itself from the ravages of the day.

That’s why so many people lack energy. Continual insufficient sleep can lead to all kinds of diseases. Not only that but it makes us less productive. It also affects our mood and shortens our fuses and it is easier to snap at someone or get angry for no real reason when we’re sleep-deprived.

In short, a lack of sleep can be very detrimental for all kinds of reasons. Your relationships, your production, your energy, your life…..

Sleeping Tablets

Using sleeping tablets – or even alcohol – might help for a while but then the situation actually worsens. As your body adapts to the intake of meds or alcohol so it needs more of the same to achieve the same result and eventually that doesn’t even help any longer as the body adapts to that. The end result is more meds and more alcohol and the resultant side effects, one of which is usually “can’t sleep”.

Symptoms of Deficiencies and/or Excesses

If you cannot sleep, that is simply a symptom of some or other deficiency or excess in your diet.

Deficiencies of the nutrients the body needs to function will always cause symptoms of some sort. If you can’t sleep, that could be a symptom of a deficiency – not of a med, but of nutrients.

It could also be caused by an excess, such as an excess of sugar, refined carbs (white flour products, pastas, cakes, etc), drinking coffee or other caffeinated beverages too late in the day, alcohol, sleeping with the lights on, TV’s, radios, computers, cell phones in your bedroom can all contribute to problems falling asleep or staying asleep.

The added problem is that these excesses actually create further deficiencies.

Start With a Simple Solution

A calcium and/or magnesium deficiency often causes insomnia. Insomnia is really just an inability to relax!

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in your body and its job is to contract muscles whilst magnesium’s job is to relax them. That’s how your heart works as well as your other muscles, organs and glands – including your intestinal muscles (constipation) AND your nerves. If you have enough of these minerals, the smooth rhythm of contraction/relaxation can occur so your body can actually relax.

Of all nutrients, adequate calcium is probably most important in inducing sound sleep.

If you can’t fall asleep, the first thing to do is make sure you’re getting an adequate intake of calcium and magnesium. You can also get a much better quality sleep by ensuring you get enough calcium and magnesium.

Speedy Absorption

In order for calcium and magnesium to be absorbed, they need to be accompanied by some sort of acid like vitamin C. Failing to have the correct ratios and in the right form will result in calcium not being absorbed and ending up as deposits in joints and other places. If you want to really benefit and feel the difference, take it in the right form.

That’s where Instant CalMag-C comes in. It is formulated as described above and is ready for instant absorption.

Other Nutrients to Support Sleep

Also make sure you’re getting a good quality fish liver oil so the calcium can get absorbed into your bloodstream and into your muscles and nerves (vitamins A & D). The vitamin D absorbs it into your bloodstream and gut whilst the A helps to absorb it into the tissues (bone tissue, organ tissue, gland tissue, etc).

In addition to a proper calcium and magnesium intake, getting a proper balance of B vitamins is also important and the best one is Brewer’s Yeast, which is the most comprehensive food source. Your body knows what to do with this form of B vitamin whereas it does not know what to do with synthetic ones.
