THIS ARTICLE CAN BE OF HIGH INTEREST TO NON DIABETICS WHO YET HAVE HIGH LEVELS OF STRESS.
By Andre Lotz (with kind acknowledgement to Adelle Davis)
As the article explains, diabetes could be thought of as a condition that develops rapidly or slowly over a period of time as a result of dietary habits and lifestyle. Famous nutritionist, Adelle Davis said of diabetes “It seems to me no disease can inflict more savage cruelty than diabetes….”.
“PERHAPS A CAUSE HAS BEEN FOUND: Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, makes it possible for sugar (glucose) to enter the cells to be converted into energy or, if not needed immediately, to be changed into glycogen (body starch) or fat; and insulin is also necessary before stored fat can be used. In diabetes the insulin supply becomes inadequate, presumably the result of a damaged pancreas.”
“When too little vitamin B6 is obtained, an essential amino acid from complete proteins, tryptophane, is not used normally; instead it is changed into a substance known as xanthurenic acid. If animals are deficient in vitamin B6, xanthurenic acid in the blood becomes so high that it damages the pancreas within 48 hours and diabetes is produced.
“The blood sugar rises far above normal and excessive sugar (glucose) spills into the urine. The longer animals are kept on a vitamin-B6-deficient diet, the more extensive is the destruction of pancreatic tissue…”
Vitamin B6 and Magnesium
“As soon as vitamin B6 is supplied, the amount of xanthurenic acid decreases; when the pancreas has not been seriously harmed, health is restored and all diabetic symptoms disappear. If the vitamin is not given, the condition grows steadily worse until the animal dies.
“Magensium decreases the need for vitamin B6; and if it is increased in the diet, the amount of xanthurenic acid is reduced even though no vitamin B6 is allowed. Furthermore, magnesium is necessary to activate enzymes containing vitamin B6; and blood magnesium is particular low in diabetics.
“Diabetes, therefore, may prove to be caused by the combined deficiencies of this vitamin and mineral.
“Saturated fats increase the need for magnesium and vitamin B6; hence deficient rats given a high fat diet excreted many times more xanthurenic acid than animals fed oils or little fat…” .
“Because high-protein and high-calorie diets increase the need for vitamin B6, they accelerate the harm done to the pancreas if this vitamin in inadequate. Furthermore, injuries to the pancreas occur long before any other symptoms of a vitamin-B6 deficiency appear”.
Our Experience with Results
In the 17 years of our business, it has been our observation that diabetics following Adelle Davis’s anti-stress formula, have had such noticeable (sometimes dramatic) improvements that we have come to regard the statement underlined above with the utmost respect.
We have seen many people, when using this information, and thereby taking the viewpoint of diabetes as a condition rather than a disease that has accidentally or unfortunately ambushed their lives, become very much more in charge of their own destiny.
Of these, it has always been common for a high percentage of those on insulin injections to report that (out of their own) they have found that they could reduce these injections. We are sometimes asked if the anti-stress program will replace any of the common treatment for diabetes and we simply reply that following the anti-stress program will provide the nutrients which, when deficient, have been observed to be associated with diabetes and which, when adequately supplied are seen to be associated by benefits to the condition known as diabetes — and leave the ensuing choices to the person concerned. It appears that, as outlined by Ms Davis, destruction of pancreatic tissue in deficient scenarios can be rapid. Our conclusion is that there are those who have left the following of the nutritional route too late and thus do not find full recovery.
As with any condition in life, it is usually a deviation from optimum over a period of time that allows one to slide finally into a definable condition that is then given a label. Fortunately our observation has been that many who correct the nutritional factors involved appear, by general well being reported, to be able to arrest damage done and even possibly effect some repair. It would be wise for someone noticing early signs of B6 or magnesium deficiencies to correct these.

ANTI-STRESS PROGRAM (also known as The Concoction)
Avoid excessive heated or unsaturated fats.
Recommended: hearty, protein-laden breakfast.
Small, regular, predominantly protein meals, preferably with some cold pressed oil.
Plenty of fresh vegetables (not overcooked) and salads.
With each small meal, The Concoction.
Instant Calmag C morning and at night.
Calcium Needs Magnesium: In order for your body to absorb calcium, it needs to be accompanied by its partner, magnesium, in a balanced ratio of two parts calcium to one part magnesium.
Calcium contracts your muscles while magnesium relaxes them and that’s a simple explanation of what these two minerals do.
Calcium and Magnesium Need Vitamin C: As both calcium and magnesium are alkaline, they need some kind of acid before they can be absorbed. Failing to have this combination can lead to increased deficiencies of calcium and/or magnesium or the calcium depositing in joints (arthritis) or kidneys (stones). You can use apple cider vinegar too but vitamin C is usually a more practical and better-tasting solution.
Why Instant CalMag-C Works: Instant CalMag-C has been formulated in a 2:1 blend of calcium gluconate and magnesium carbonate with vitamin C to adjust the pH so your body can actually absorb the calcium and magnesium. Unlike tablets and capsules that may or may not break down and be absorbed, Instant CalMag-C is ready for absorption the minute you make it. It’s almost like pre-digesting.
It is made with boiling water and this is very important as calcium particles are large and the chemical reaction created by dissolving the powder with boiling water breaks them down into smaller, absorbable ones. That’s why it absorbs so rapidly into your body and you can feel the difference.
